The wave is carved and polished sodalite.

The time inclusive project of producing the dolphin begins with modeling the figure out of clay. (the proportional control was actually achieved using a picture I took of dolphins taken from my son's boat out of San Diego) The clay figure is then baked to a satisfactory hardness so that it can be pressed into  a sand/clay casting mold.  Molten silver (925) is then pored into the mold. Then finishing the silver figure and adding faceted dark blue sapphire eyes. Then mounted on sterling wire to place it  sporting over the waves.

Beautiful, indeed, this thoughtfully designed sculpture includes conch shell from the Bahamas, coral from Hawaii, sea shells, blue sodalite, dark blue faceted sapphire and are set on square of granite framed in brass. The dolphin steals the show, as usual, and is cast in Solid Sterling Silver.  Item# 2789
